The most recent addition to the Parkview Meadows is our Gardenview wing which opened in 2005. Gardenview is a state-of-the-art long-term care facility. Taking pride in being a center of excellence both in terms of its design and operation, this 64-bed facility caters to seniors who need extra care while maintaining residents’ comfort and dignity. Gardenview offers a home-like comfortable living environment with facilities that set it apart from similar facilities such as the climate-controlled non-smoking environment and a choice of private or standard rooms with ensuite washrooms.
What Is Gardenview Like?
From the moment you enter Gardenview, you will immediately notice how spacious everything is. From the modern tastefully decorated common areas where residents congregate to chat to the wide hallways that lead to our secure outdoor garden, this really is a wonderful place to live. Home-style meals and meals that meet our residents’ special dietary requirements are served in our large dining room.
What Does Gardenview Cost?
Fees for room and board are set by the province. These are updated annually by the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care.
Current fees (effective July 1st, 2023) are:
- Basic/Standard Rooms (semi-private) – $65.32 per day / $1,986.82 per month
- Private Rooms – $93.32 per day / $2,838.49 per month
Basic Accomodation is subject to possible rate reduction as outlined in the Regulations and upon application for same, with the appropriate documentation, by the Resident.
What Care Will I Receive and What Social Activities Are Offered?
Gardenview also benefits from around the clock Registered Nurses and each resident has access to exercise programs and mobility aid assessments. All residents are encouraged, where practical, to take part in communal activities as well as participating in special day trips and outings.
Each week, church services and Bible studies help our seniors to maintain a tie to their Christian spirituality with our Pastoral Care, Theresa.
Residents from other parts of Parkview Meadows can often be seen visiting, befriending and helping out with our Gardenview residents showing that Parkview Meadows truly is a wonderful caring community.
